Carrying out distance and comparison measurements on front axle - AR40.30-P-0402-01C

  1. Comparison dimension "V1  " measured from inspection hole "K  " to 8 mm hole in control arm (4) left to right.

    Use measuring tip 140 589 09 63 29.

  2. Comparison dimension "V2  " measured from inspection hole "K  " to recess in side member of body left to right.

    Use measuring tip 140 589 09 63 03.

  3. Comparison dimension "V3  " measured from inspection hole "K  " to rear mounting of front suspension supporting bracket left to right.

    Use measuring bolt 140 589 09 63 08.

  4. Distance "V5  " of top suspension of shock absorber at front end.

    Use measuring tips 140 589 09 63 02.

    The dimension "V5  " must be used for accident diagnosis only together with the camber measured at the front suspension as it is possible to determine the position of the top control arm only indirectly in this case.

  5. Comparison dimension "V6  " measured from inspection hole "K  " to front control arm mounting at front suspension supporting bracket left to right. Use center of rubber bush as measuring point, mark center if necessary.

    Use measuring tips 140 589 09 63 02.

  6. Distance "V7  " measured between front and rear control arm mounting on inside of bearing brackets.

    Use measuring tips 140 589 09 63 02.

  7. Distance "V8  " measured between the left and right rear control arm mounting at the outsides of the guides for the eccentric bolts.

    Use measuring tips 140 589 09 63 02.

  8. Distance "V9  " measured between the left and right front control arm mounting at the outsides of the guides for the eccentric bolts.

    Use measuring tips 140 589 09 63 02.

  9. Distance "V10  " measured at the front mounting of the front suspension mounting bracket. The bolts for attaching the front suspension mounting bracket are used as the measuring point. Unscrew securing bolts and screw in if necessary. Inspect for twisting. The torsion bar has to be detached at the front mounting bushings and moved down for measuring " V10, V12  and V13  ".

    Use measuring pins 140 589 09 63 08.

  10. Distance "V11  " measured at the rear mounting of the front suspension supporting bracket.

    The bolts for attaching the front suspension supporting bracket are used as the measuring point.

    Use measuring pins 140 589 09 63 08.

  11. Distance "V12  " measured diagonally between the hexagon bolts of the front and rear mounting of the front suspension supporting bracket. The torsion bar has to be detached and moved down at the front mounting bushes for the measurement.

    Use measuring pins 140 589 09 63 08.

  12. Distance "V13"  measured between the hexagon bolts of the front and rear mounting of the front suspension supporting bracket left to right. The torsion bar has to be detached and moved down at the front mounting bushes for the measurement.

    Use measuring pins 140 589 09 63 08.
