This setting is possible only once during the first 300 km/miles or for
during the first 10 km (total mileage reading).
PREPARATIONS FOR SETTINGKey in steering wheel lock turn to position "2" (indicator and warning lamps "ON"). Adjustment knob (1) press and hold. A signal tone sounds after approx. 10 s, the display is reset to 000000. Key in steering wheel lock turn to position "0" and then back to position "2". The word "Prog" appears on the trip odometer display.
0 - - - - - appears on the total mileage display.Adjustment knob (1) release. ADJUSTMENTAdjustment knob (2) pull out and turn to left in direction of arrow. The number in position 1 is set to 1. Adjustment knob (2) release and pull out again then turn to left in direction of arrow.
The number is set to 2. Repeat this step until the desired number is set. 9 is followed by 0 without a carry-over to the second position.NOTE: The number 0 must be set following the number 9.Adjustment knob (2) pull out and turn to the right opposite the direction indicated by the arrow.
The number 0 appears in the next position. Set the next positions and numbers as described.NOTE: Only even numbers such as 0, 2 ..... can be set in position 6.STORING TOTAL MILEAGEAdjustment knob (1) press and turn key in steering wheel lock to position "0". Adjustment knob (1) release. CHECK SETTINGKey in steering wheel lock turn to position "2". The total mileage set previously should be displayed. NOTE: If entry is incomplete or a total mileage < 300 km/miles or 10 km foris entered, the counter is reset to 000000 during the storage operation.
Repeat setting procedure. - Vehicles as of approx. 06/96 NOTE: On vehicles as of approx. 06/96 the odometer can be set with the HHT. See Diagnosis Manual.
