WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 42 other vehicles, including the 1999 Mercedes-Benz S600, 1999 Mercedes-Benz S500, 1999 Mercedes-Benz S420, 1999 Mercedes-Benz S320, and 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL600. - Models 107, 124 and 126
If the fuel consumption displayed by the trip computer deviates from the actual consumption, it can be adapted in 2.5% stages by adjusting the microswitches on the trip computer control unit.
Example: - Effective
consumption: 12.5 l/100 km
- Trip computer
consumption display: 11.7 l/100 km
Error in %= -6.4%
Consumption correction on microswitches+7.5%.
- Models 129 and 140
If the fuel consumption displayed on the trip computer deviates from the actual consumption, it can be adapted in 2.5% stages.
Setting consumption correction
- Turn key in steering lock to position 2 (terminal 15, engine off).
- Hold down clock synchronization button "A" for at least 2 seconds.
- The tank capacity in liters according to the fuel quantity contained appears in the outside temperature display.
- Pull out clock adjustment knob, turn counterclockwise and release.
- The stored value is visible in the outside temperature display (factory setting 0%).
- Change consumption correction value
- Pull out clock adjustment knob and turn counter-clockwise.
- The value changes in stages of 2.5%. The greatest negative value is followed by the greatest positive value until 0% is reached again.
The adjustment range extends from +25% to -25%.
Calculating adjustment range
Example:
Effective consumption 12.5 l
Trip computer consumption display 11.7 l
Error in %=6.4%
Set next highest correction +7.5.
NOTE: The values set with the aid of the outside temperature display only become visible on the trip computer display after the test mode of the trip computer has been switched off and on again once.
