  1. Insert radial lip-type sealing ring (39) on brake band piston B1 (37).
  2. Insert pressure pin with shims and sealing ring in brake band piston B1.

    IMPORTANT

The sealing lip must point outwards.

  3. Mount assembly device (026) and screw onto transmission housing.

    Install measuring device (031).

  4. Insert brake band piston B1 (37) with one pressure spring.

IMPORTANT It is sufficient if only one pressure spring is installed to adjust the play.

  5. Screw in spindle of the assembly device (026).

Ensure that the pressure pin of the brake band piston B1 (37) is inserted in the brake band and that the radial lip-type sealing ring (39) is not damaged.

    Measuring device - 1st version

In order to be able to remove and install the locking ring (41) without loosening the screw plug or the transmission overload protection switch (S65), turn on one phase at the measuring device (arrow).

Measurement and adjustment of play in brake band B1

  8. Screw in the screw on measuring device (031) by hand until resistance is detectable.

  9. Using a torque wrench, continue screwing in the screw, counting the number of revolutions until a torque of 1 Nm is reached.

    IMPORTANT

The thread on the measuring device (031) has a 1 mm pitch so that one revolution is equivalent to a play of 1 mm.

  10. Loosen assembly device and remove brake band piston, if necessary.

  11. Adjust play by inserting or removing shims (136) on the pressure pin (38).

    IMPORTANT

Shims are available as a spare part in thicknesses of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 mm.
