Installing race/grooved ball bearing and checking play - AR27.30-P-0700-01A

  1. Using a suitable alignment tool, press race/grooved ball bearing (67) into the rear transmission cover
  2. Insert locking ring (68).

    IMPORTANT

    Ensure that the locking ring (68) seats correctly in the groove.

  3. Using a feeler gauge, check whether there is play between the locking ring (68) and race/grooved ball bearing

IMPORTANT

There must not  be any play  between the locking ring (68) and race/deep-groove ball bearing (67).

If the locking ring cannot be installed, a thinner locking ring must be used. If there is play between the locking ring and race/deep-groove ball bearing, a thicker locking ring must be installed. Locking rings (68) are available as a replacement part in thicknesses of 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 mm.
