Assembling and measuring overdrive clutch - AR27.51-P-0760-01A

A Assembling

Insert sleeve (023) in multiple-disc carrier (172).

Check radial lip-type sealing ring (185) and sealing ring (184) for wear, if necessary replace and lubricate with ATF oil. When assembling, ensure that the lips of the radial lip-type sealing rings (181) and (185) point downwards.
Insert piston (183) carefully and without canting it over.
Remove sleeve (023).

Insert all 18 or 19 return springs (182) in the guide pilot of the piston (183).
Insert sleeve (024) in multiple-disc carrier (172).
Lubricate radial lip-type sealing ring (181) with ATF oil and mount on spring plate (180).
Mount spring plate (180).

Place snap ring (179) on the spring plate.
Mount and clamp assembly device (020)
Insert snap ring (179).

Ensure correct seating.
Unclamp and remove assembly device (020).

Arrange multi-discs for overdrive clutch in the order shown in the figure and insert individually.

Before assembly, place new multi-discs in ATF oil for 1 hour.
Remove sleeve (024)

B Measuring
Using a feeler gauge, measure play KS "S" and adjust with snap ring (174), if necessary.

The snap ring is available as a replacement part in thicknesses of 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 mm.
