Removing and installing lock cylinder - AR46.10-P-0800A

	Removing
Before removal	If lock cylinder/key is notchy or jamming, spray lock cylinder with lock cylinder grease	If it is not possible to eliminate the complaint, replace lock cylinder and key in constant use.

1	Remove steering lock, remove protective sleeve (36d) from steering lock part		AR46.10-P-0900A
2	Press in pressure stud (arrow) and pull ignition/starter switch (S2/1) with locking shaft out of the protective sleeve (36d)	The lock cylinder (36) can only be replaced together with the protective sleeve (36d) and cap (36b). On vehicles with automatic transmission a parking lock valve (37h) is also mounted on the ignition/starter switch (S2/1).
	Installing
3	Turn lock cylinder (36) to position "1" with the key (36c) and press into a new protective sleeve (36d) until the locking detent (36h) locks in position	Since 09/94 only parts from the 4th version of the steering lock are supplied as parts (increased anti-theft protection)
	Steering lock, 2nd version		BT46.10-P-0001-01A
	Steering lock, 4th version		BT46.10-P-0003-01A
4	Remove key
5	Push cap (36b) onto the protective sleeve until the snap ring (36g) locks in position	The cap (36b) is now permanently attached to the protective sleeve (36d)
6	Press the ignition/starter switch (S2/1) with locking shaft into the protective sleeve (36d) until it locks in position
