The vehicle must be standing on its wheels for the measurement.

Begin by measuring articulation angle at transmission end. Always read off absolute angle at steel straightedge from left-hand side of vehicle.

Measure absolute angle at manual transmission 

1. Secure measuring socket (010a) steel straightedge (010 b) to left contact surface of transmission with thumb screw and knurled nut (010 c).
2. Read off and note down measured absolute angle (e.g. 1° 55').

3. Disconnect measuring socket from transmission.

Measure absolute angle at automatic transmission. 

1. Set up measuring socket (010c) with mounted steel straightedge at contact surfaces (arrows) of transmission.

   

   If there are oil lines from the transmission or an electric wiring harness in this area, push to the side or remove.

Position of contact surface on transmission housing 

2. Read off and note down measured absolute angle.
3. Detach measuring socket from transmission.
