Remove / install catalytic converter and front exhaust system - AR49.10-P-5531E

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove / install lower engine compartment covering    
2 Remove / install exhaust system as from flange connection Model 124.03 AR49.10-P-7280EA
    Model 129 AR49.10-P-7280FA
    Model 140 AR49.10-P-7280FB 
3 Disconnect O2 sensor connectors (G3/2x1 or G3/3x1, G3/4x1)    
4 Unscrew bolts (1) on catalytic converter / exhaust manifold flange connection If bolts are sluggish, or thread damaged: ↓  
    Replace rivet nuts in exhaust manifold. AR49.10-P-5531-01DA 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA14.10-P-1002-01B 
5 Loosen flanged connections at cross tube (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA49.10-P-1003-01A 
6 Unscrew nuts (6a) on carrier (10) and remove three-way catalytic converter (2)    
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Three-way catalytic converter coating modified Engine 119.97 BT49.10-P-0001-01A 
7 Unscrew bolts (1) on transverse pipe / exhaust manifold flange connection TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA14.10-P-1002-01B 
8 Unscrew O2 sensors (G3/2 or G3/3, G3/4) IMPORTANTInstallation  : Coat thread on oxygen sensor with heat-resistant lubricant *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA14.00-P-1001-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Fig 3
INSPECT Checking     
9 Check flanges and center sealing (5) for reusability Replace, if necessary.  
10 Install in the reverse order
