To reduce the formation of vapor bubbles in the fuel system at high outside temperatures, a fuel cooler (75) is installed. It is located in the refrigerant return line between evaporator and A/C compressor. The fuel cooler is attached to the left wheelhouse in the engine compartment.
When the engine is running, the fuel fed back by the diaphragm pressure regulator flows back pressureless through the fuel cooler into the fuel tank.
As soon as the A/C compressor is switched off, gases refrigerant, which flows through the inner pipe of the fuel cooler, removes the heat from the fuel.
