Removing and installing engine coolant pump - AR20.10-P-1271AX

MODIFICATION NOTES

1.9.95 Coolant pump with increased volumetric flow Refer to step 15  
REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing, installing    
1 Drain coolant   ra20006010010x
2 Remove radiator Model 201.126 AR20.20-P-3865HW 
3 Remove solenoid fan clutch Engines with solenoid fan clutch ra20006010335x
4 Remove viscous fan clutch Engine 601 in model 202 AR20.40-P-5660HA
    Engines 601, 602 in models 124, 201 AR20.40-P-5660HW 
    Engine 603 in models 124, 126, 140  
5 Disconnect ground cable from battery   AR54.10-P-0003A
6 Slacken bolts (2) of belt pulley of coolant pump. TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA20.10-P-1001-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Fig 2
7 Remove poly V-belt   AR13.22-P-1202HW
8 Unbolt belt pulley (5) IMPORTANT Do not remove solenoid carrier (34) on engines with solenoid fan clutch. Stick loose solenoid carriers in place with adhesive. *BR00.45-Z-1010-02A 
9 Disconnect coolant hose (3) and heating water hose (4) from coolant pump housing.    
10 Remove generator (15)    
11 Remove generator carrier (16). TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.40-P-1005-01E 
12 Remove coolant pump housing (1) together with coolant pump IMPORTANT When removing the coolant pump housing, pull the housing off the heater return line (18).  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Moisten seal (17) with coolant. Do not use oil.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA20.10-P-1003-01A 
13 Replace gasket (14). Clean sealing surfaces.    
14 Unscrew coolant pump (6) IMPORTANT As of 11/1995, a coolant pump with increased volumetric flow is installed with engine 603.960/971.
Refer to ↓		 *BA20.10-P-1002-01A 
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS   Coolant pump with increased volumetric flow BT20.10-P-0001-01A 
15 Replace gasket (10). Clean sealing surfaces.    
16 Install in the reverse order    
17 Test cooling system for leaks   AR20.00-P-1010HA 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION COOLANT PUMP, COOLANT THERMOSTAT
