REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing, installing
DANGER Danger of explosion  through welding or soldering work on the enclosed air-conditioning system. Danger of poisoning  through inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Danger of injury  through skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant Do not conduct any welding work on enclosed air-conditioning systems nor in their immediate environment. Smoking and naked flame are prohibited. Wear protective eyewear and gloves and work only in well-ventilated areas. Repair work may be carried out on the air-conditioning circuit only after the system has been purged. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES What to do on event of damaged or leaking air-conditioning system   AH83.30-N-0004-01A
NOTES Protect the air-conditioning system's circuit and components against dampness when conducting repair work All models fitted with air conditioning AH83.30-N-0005-01A
IMPORTANT Instructions on how to handle R134a refrigerant All models with R134a refrigerant AH83.30-N-0003-01A
IMPORTANT Generally, a new liquid tank (1) should be installed after the air-conditioning system malfunctions as a result of leakage, contamination or freezing, or after maintenance work or replacement of the refrigerant compressor.
1 Discharge (recycling) the air-conditioning system, evacuate, fill it and then check it for leaks NOTES Feed the purged compressor fluid back into the refrigerant circuit when filling the air-conditioning system
2 Remove the left front headlamp unit Standard headlamps AR82.10-P-4730A
2   Xenon headlamps AR82.10-P-4730B
3 Remove the refrigerant pressure sensor (B12) at the liquid tank (1)   AR83.30-P-5430C
4 Release the plug-type connector (5) at the refrigerant temperature sensor (B12/1) and disconnect it.
5 Remove the refrigerant temperature sensor (B12/1) from the liquid tank (1). IMPORTANTInstallation  : replace seal and wet with compressor fluid
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.30-P-1008-01A
6 Remove discharge lines (2,3) on the liquid tank (1). IMPORTANTInstallation  : when fitting the discharge lines, wet the thread with compressor fluid
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.30-P-1003-01A
7 Install in the reverse order IMPORTANT Check the oil replenishment level when replacing the liquid tank *BF83.55-P-1005-01A
8 Switch on the air-conditioning system and let the engine idle for approximately 4 minutes IMPORTANT Set temperature to "Lo" and the blower to max.
9 Check the air-conditioning system function IMPORTANT The air outlet temperature at the center nozzle must not drop below + 5°C, if necessary ↓
refer to the diagnosis manual to carry out a diagnosis check

10 Check the air-conditioning circuit for signs of any leakages COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS *WE58.40-Z-1002-20A
