Clearing Codes: Impulse Tester

- After all repairs have been made, each fault code readout must be erased individually. Fault Code No. 10 can ONLY be erased by replacing SRS control unit. Locate diagnostic connector. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR LOCATION table. See Figure -4.
- Using Impulse Tester (124-589-19-21-00), connect tester probe leads to diagnostic connector terminals No. 1 and 6. Ensure all SRS electrical connections are connected and secure. Battery voltage must be greater than 11 volts. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Press START button on impulse tester for exactly 3 seconds to start SRS control unit self-diagnostics. Wait 3 more seconds, then press START button again for 6-8 seconds to erase fault code.
- Continue step 3) sequence until all fault codes are erased. Perform RETRIEVING FAULT CODES sequence again to ensure all SRS fault codes are erased. SRS warning light will flash only once when no more fault codes exist in system memory.
