Reading & Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
NOTE:
Before proceeding with reading diagnostic trouble codes, perform soft/hard top function test. See SOFT/HARD TOP SYSTEM - FUNCTION TEST (SECTION 11/1)
or roll bar function test. See ROLL BAR SYSTEM - FUNCTION TEST (SECTION 19.2/11.1)
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
NOTE:
The soft top controller is defined as the Top Actuation Control Unit (N52), but may also be referred to as Soft Top Control Module (N52). See Figure
.
NOTE:
Impulse Counter Tester is not used on all models, connection is dependent upon chassis number. Impulse Counter Tester is no longer used after 9/95.
NOTE:
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) may also be referred to as "reading out fault memory".
Connect Impulse Counter or Hand Held Tester (HHT) according to connection diagram. See Fig 1 -Fig 5 . To identifying Diagnostic Data Link Connectors. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION .
