Installing Hard Top
CAUTION:
DO NOT touch top linkage, upper part of windshield or top compartment, while top is being locked or unlocked. DO NOT place your hands between hard top and car body while hard top is being locked or unlocked. DO NOT place your hands near roll bar, while bar is being operated. Serious personal injury may occur.
NOTE:
During removal and installation procedures the numbers in parentheses, within steps, correspond to numbers inside the illustration(s). The word arrow(s) in parentheses, within steps, is used to point out specific components or movement.
- Set parking brake and turn ignition key to position 2. See Figure .
- Lower roll bar. See ROLL BAR .
- Open doors.
- Turn radio and telephone off to lower power antenna, turn ignition key to position 0 and remove. See Figure .
- From rear of vehicle, lift hard top carefully over attachment points (1) and locating points (2). First guide rear pins of top vertically into rear attachment points, then lower roof onto vehicle and locate front locking pins. See Fig 1 . Exercise caution when maneuvering top. To avoid paint damage, hard top mounting pins must not be allowed to contact body.
- Turn ignition key to position 2. The indicator lamp in soft/hard top switch lights up. See Figure .
- Slide soft/hard top switch (28) forward, the hard top should lock and indicator lamp in switch should go out.
- Connect harness plug connector (4) for rear window defroster. See Figure .
