Maintenance Hydraulic Pump Unit Fluid Level

NOTE: Before removing cover from hydraulic pump unit, vehicles with VIN numbers ending with (...029941 and above) have an inspection opening provided for viewing the fluid level in the reservoir. See Fig 1 .

Remove spare tire, remove protective cover from over hydraulic unit. Inspect fluid level, fluid level should be between maximum and minimum marks. See Fig 2 and Fig 3 . Use Mercedes-Benz hydraulic fluid (part No. 000 989 91 03).
