Parking Brake Linings: Removal

- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel and tire. Disconnect hydraulic line. Remove caliper and rotor. Turn rear axle flange until one threaded hole faces hold-down spring. Compress spring with Spring Installer/Remover (112 589 09 61 00) and turn 90 degrees.
- Remove all retainers and hold-down springs. Detach lower return spring, opposite adjuster. Pull brake shoes apart far enough to remove over rear axle shaft flange. Detach upper return spring. Remove adjuster. See Fig 1 .
