Diode Assembly

  1. Place ohmmeter on x100 scale. Connect one ohmmeter lead to B+ terminal and other lead to each stator terminal, one at a time. Reverse leads and retest each stator. Ohmmeter should indicate continuity in one direction only.
  2. Connect one ohmmeter lead to negative plate and other lead to each stator terminal, one at a time. Reverse leads and retest. Ohmmeter should indicate continuity in one direction only.
  3. Connect one ohmmeter lead to D+ terminal and other lead to each stator terminal, one at a time. Reverse leads and retest. Ohmmeter should indicate continuity in one direction only. Replace diode assembly if any test is not as specified. See Fig 1.
