Internal Resistance Of Solenoid Valves

  1. Turn ignition off. Set rotary switch successively to positions 8 (left front wheel), 9 (right front wheel) and 10 (rear differential). Connect a DVOM to positive and negative terminals indicated on tester. Press ground button on tester.
  2. Internal resistance should be .7-1.7 ohms for each switch position. If internal resistance is not within specification, check for poor connections at hydraulic unit. Check wiring harness for open and shorts. If wiring harness is okay, solenoid valve is defective.
