Internal Resistance Of Speed Sensor

  1. Turn ignition on. Set rotary switch successively to positions 4 (left front wheel), 5 (right front wheel) and 6 (rear differential). Connect a DVOM to positive and negative terminals indicated on tester. Measure internal resistance of each sensor. See SPEED SENSOR INTERNAL RESISTANCE table. If internal resistance is not within specification, go to next step.

    Application Ohms
    Front Wheel 850-2300
    Rear Differential 600-1600
  2. Check coaxial plug and cable connector for poor contact. Check wiring harness for open and shorts. Replace defective speed sensor, or adjust wheel bearing because of excessive play.
