300 Series

  1. Remove fuel gauge sending unit from tank. Connect ohmmeter between terminal "G" (Blue/Black wire) and terminal No. 31 (Brown wire) on fuel gauge sending unit. Resistance should be 2.5-4.0 ohms with float at FULL position and 83.1-88.1 ohms with float at EMPTY position. Resistance decreases as fuel level increases.
  2. To test low fuel warning contacts, connect ohmmeter across terminal "W" (Blue/Green Wire) and terminal No. 31 (Brown wire). Continuity should exist with float at "EMPTY" position. If sending unit functions as described and wire harness to gauge is good, replace fuel gauge.
