NOTE: If either of the pressure accumulators is defective, replace both units on the axle.

Removal and installation

  1. Remove front wheel.

    Installation note

    Tighten lug bolts, 110 Nm.

  2. Unscrew the four hexagon bolts (arrows) and remove the wheel-housing guard.

  3. Use a box-end tube wrench to disconnect the high-pressure lines (S1 and P4) from the pressure accumulator (14).

    Installation notes

    Tightening torques:

    S1 = 14 Nm.

    P4 = 30 Nm.

    Notes on scrapping

    The relevant safety provisions are to be observed when scrapping accumulators.

    In order to eliminate the basic pressure in the accumulator, drill carefully on the convex side with a 3 mm drill until the gas flows out. To prevent accidents caused by the outflowing gas and to protect against drilling chips, safety glasses and gloves must be worn. The hole is to be drilled with the minimum possible feed.

    Apply as little pressure as possible when drilling the orifice (arrow).
