Removal & Installation: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. When installing torque converter to transmission, coat converter tangs, turbine and stator shaft with assembly lubricant. Be sure that converter is fully seated in transmission before installing in vehicle.
  2. Tighten transmission-to-engine 10 mm bolts to 41 ft. lbs. (55 N.m) and 12 mm bolts to 48 ft. lbs. (65 N.m). Tighten drive shaft clamping nut to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m). Tighten flex plate-to-torque converter bolts to 31 ft. lbs. (42 N.m).
