Removal (All Other Models)
- Raise vehicle, support with safety stands, and remove wheels. If equipped, remove cover plate from caliper, and disconnect wear indicator wires.
- Drive out retaining pins toward inside of vehicle. On Bendix brakes, retaining pins have locking keys. Remove cross spring.
- Remove disc pads from caliper assembly. If reusable, note condition and location of pads for proper assembly.
- Standard front disc brake pad assembly thickness, including lining backing plate, is .69" (17.5 mm). Standard rear pad assembly thickness is .59" (15 mm).
- Front backing plate thickness is .18" (4.5 mm). Rear backing plate thickness is .20" (5 mm). Minimum pad thickness is .08" (2 mm).
NOTE:
All self-locking, hex head bolts should only be used once.
