Transfer Rear Oil Seal Replacement [Mm8AX-EC]

1. Remove the front under cover No. 3. (See REMOVE FRONT UNDER COVER NO. 3 .)
2. Remove the floor under cover. (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Remove the rear under cover No. 1. (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Remove the middle pipe. (See MIDDLE PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] .)
5. Remove the Insulator (front No. 1). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM INSULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] .)
6. Remove the Insulator (front No. 2). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM INSULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] .)
7. Remove the Insulator (front No. 3). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM INSULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] .)
8. Remove the Insulator (front No. 4). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM INSULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] .)
9. Remove the tunnel member. (See REAR PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
10. Remove the following parts.

11. Remove the following parts.

12. Remove the transfer rear oil seal from the transfer using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.

13. Apply transfer oil to the lip area of a new transfer rear oil seal.
    NOTE:

    • Install the transfer rear oil seal straight.
14. Install a new transfer rear oil seal using the SST (49 H028 202) and a hammer.
