Shift Point Is High Or Low
SHIFT POINT IS HIGH OR LOW (NJ8A(X)-EC/NN8A(X)-EC/MM8A(X)-EC) DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE
| Description |
- Shift point considerably different from automatic shift diagram.
- Shift delays when accelerating.
- Shift occurs suddenly when accelerating and engine speed does not increase.

| Possible cause |
NOTE:
- When driving on an upslope, downslope, circular road, or at high altitudes, the TCM may determine that the driving mode is AAS mode and set the shift timing different from normal.
- For vehicles with Mi-Drive, when a mode other than NORMAL is selected, a gear lower than NORMAL is selected and the gear is maintained for a longer period of time.
- When the engine coolant temperature is low, the gear is lower than it is in NORMAL mode.
- When driving on slippery roads, 7th and 8th gears may not be selected to assure vehicle stability.
