- While the vehicle is driven in any of the following gears, interlock is determined.
- 1st gear
- 5th gear
- 7th gear

- Inhibits malfunctioning gear.
- Limits engine torque.
- Inhibits learning control.
- Inhibits manual mode.
- Inhibits switching from engine-only driving to EV driving. (With Mazda M Hybrid boost)
- Inhibits i-stop control. (Without Mazda M Hybrid boost)
- Inhibits AAS.

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC
.)
- Perform the following procedure to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:
- Start the engine and wait for 10 s in P position.
- Drive the vehicle under the following condition:
- Vehicle speed: 30 km/h {19 mph} or more
