| Detection condition |
- Any one of the following conditions is met:
- When the accelerator pedal is depressed, the engine or the motor revs and the vehicle cannot accelerate from a standstill.
- While the vehicle is driven in any of the following gears, a gear ratio malfunction is determined.
- 1st gear
- 3rd gear
- 5th gear
- 6th gear
- 7th gear

- Inhibits malfunctioning gear.
- Limits engine torque.
- Inhibits learning control.
- Inhibits manual mode.
- Inhibits switching from engine-only driving to EV driving. (With Mazda M Hybrid boost)
- Inhibits i-stop control. (Without Mazda M Hybrid boost)
- Inhibits AAS.

- Control valve body malfunction (Shift solenoid No. 3 malfunction) (Refer to [CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
] in service information).
- Automatic transmission malfunction (ATF leakage from clutch hydraulic circuit in automatic transmission) (Refer to [AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
] in service information).

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC
.)
- Perform the following procedure to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:
WARNING:
- When starting with increased engine speed, do so in a safe place to prevent accidents due to sudden jumping out.
NOTE:
- If the vehicle cannot start, increase the engine speed to the extent that it does not overrev and try to start several times.
- Drive the vehicle under the following condition:
- Vehicle speed: 30 km/h {19 mph} or more
