- The backup power supply unit detects the battery malfunction.

| Fail-safe |
- Inhibit driving (neutral).
- When the vehicle speed is 5 km/h {3 mph} or less, the parking mechanism is switched to the parking lock.

- Battery malfunction (Refer to [BATTERY INSPECTION
] in service information).

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC
.)
- Perform the following procedure to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 11 s or more.
