DTC P2610-00: Body Control Module (BCM) Internal Malfunction (PYUL)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
P2610: 00 (PCM (PYUL)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Body control module (BCM) internal malfunction
Detection condition

    Determination condition

  • When any of the following conditions is met.
    • When the engine is stopped, the amount of time the engine has been stopped does not match between the 2 processors in the instrument cluster for a specified time or more.
    • The instrument cluster cannot receive the engine speed signal from the PCM for a specified time or more.
    • The instrument cluster cannot count the amount of time the engine has been stopped for a specified time or more.

Precondition
  • Ignition is switched ON (engine on)
  • The following DTCs are not detected
    • P0335: 00 and P0365: 00
Fail-safe
  • The fast idle up correction for drive-by-wire control is inhibited.
  • Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.
Vehicle status when DTCs are output
  • Not applicable
Repeatability verification procedure
NOTE:
  • DTC P2610: 00 can be cleared by performing the engine start and stop procedure.
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Stop the engine.
  3. Switch the ignition off and wait for 5 min or more.
  4. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
Inspection/action procedure
NOTE: Because DTC P2610:00 may have been stored in the PCM when the PCM received the [ECU Reset]command from the diagnostic tester, implement the repeatability verification procedure first. If DTCP2610:00 does not recur after the repeatability verification procedure, the vehicle is normal.
  • Proceed with the inspection/action in the order from Step 1 below.
  • After part repair or replacement, perform the repeatability verifi cation procedure and perform a DTCinspection. (See DTC INSPECTION )
  • If the DTC inspection indicates the same DTC again, go to the next step.
  1. Inspect the wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between the battery and body control module (BCM).

    Purpose/reason (possible cause)

Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between battery and body control module (BCM)

    Referred to workshop manual item

(See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)

  2. Replace the body control module (BCM).

    Purpose/reason (possible cause)

Body control module (BCM) malfunction (applicable part can not be inspected to determine integrity)

    Referred to workshop manual item

(See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  3. Replace the PCM.

    Purpose/reason (possible cause)

PCM malfunction (no other possible malfunction considered)

    Referred to workshop manual item

    (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
