P250F: 00 (PCM (PYUL)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Engine oil system: Engine oil level is too low
Detection condition Determination conditions
  • The engine oil level has decreased around or below MIN mark
Preconditions
  • Engine oil pressure control: During low hydraulic pressure control
  • Engine oil temperature: 20-100°C *1

    While driving the vehicle: 

    • Vehicle speed: 5 km/h {3 mph} or more *1
    • Engine speed: 600-2, 000 rpm *1
    • Longitudinal G: 0.2 G or less
    • G on the left and right side of the vehicle: 0.2 G or less

    When vehicle is stopped: 

    • Vehicle speed: 0 km/h {0 mph} *1
    • Engine speed: 500-3, 000 rpm *1
    • Longitudinal G: 0.05 G or less (tilt angle: 3.1 degrees or less)
    • G on the left and right side of the vehicle: 0.05 g or less (inclination angle: 3.1 degrees or less)
  • The following DTCs are not detected:
    • Communication error between PCM and engine oil level sensor: U1100: 00
    • Engine oil level sensor: P250A: 00 and P250C: 00

    *1: Standard can be verified by displaying PIDs using M-MDS

Possible cause
  • Insufficient engine oil
  • Engine oil leakage
  • Engine oil level sensor malfunction
    • Clogging of oil passage to engine oil level sensor detection area
    • Engine oil level sensor detects an integrated circuit malfunction
  • PCM input signal error
    • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between engine oil level sensor and PCM
  • PCM malfunction
