Inspect High Pressure Fuel Pump
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
- In the following inspection, the value detected by the fuel pressure sensor is displayed.
- Verify that the fuel pressure sensor is normal. (See FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [PYUL]
)
Fuel pressure sensor is normal
- Perform the PID/data monitor inspection.
Fuel pressure sensor is not normal
- Replace the fuel distributor.NOTE:
- The fuel pressure sensor cannot be removed as a single unit. If the fuel pressure sensor is replaced, replace it as a single unit with the fuel distributor.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the main power ON (READY on).
- Display PID [FUEL_PRES] using the M-MDS.
- While idling, verify that the PID [FUEL_PRES] is approx. 10 MPa {102 kgf/cm2, 1450 psi.
- If it cannot be verified, perform the following inspections.
- Perform the fuel line pressure inspection, verify that the fuel pressure value on the low pressure side is normal, then go to the next step. (See FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [PYUL]
)
- If the fuel pressure value is not normal, repair the malfunctioning location using the fuel line pressure inspection, and perform Step 5 again.
- Replace the high pressure fuel pump. (See HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [PYUL] ).
- Perform the fuel line pressure inspection, verify that the fuel pressure value on the low pressure side is normal, then go to the next step. (See FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [PYUL]
)
- If it cannot be verified, perform the following inspections.
