Fuel cut control inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
  • Perform the procedure with the M-MDS connected to the DLC-2.
  • Perform the procedure with the engine warmed up and idling.
  1. Load the vehicle on a chassis dynamometer or drive the vehicle on a road.
    WARNING:
    • When performing the procedure from Step  4 on the chassis dynamometer, be careful not to get parts such as tires or rollers caught in the rotating parts.
    • When performing the procedure from Step  4 on a road while driving the vehicle, always observe the following to ensure safety.
      • To prevent an accident, work with another person (one person drives vehicle, other person operates M-MDS).
      • Comply with the legal speed limits and perform the procedure in a safe place.
  2. Verify the PIDs [ENG_RPM] and [FUEL_PULSE_WD] using the PID/data monitor function. (Refer to [PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION ] in the troubleshooting service information)
  3. Drive the vehicle under the condition of PID [ENG_RPM] 4, 000 rpm.
  4. When the accelerator pedal is released without depressing the brake pedal, verify that the PID [FUEL_PULSE_WD] indicates 0 ms until the PID [ENG_RPM] reaches approx. 1, 200 rpm and the PID [FUEL_PULSE_WD] indicates 2 to 5 ms when the PID [ENG_RPM] is approx. 1, 200 rpm or less.
    • If it cannot be verified, inspect the following items and if there is a malfunction, repair or replace the malfunctioning location.
      • Under load/under no-load determination signal
      • Coolant temperature sensor
      • Accelerator pedal position sensor
      • A/C request signal
