Perform Fuel Siphoning Preparation

WARNING:
  • Connect a ground wire to the oil-resistant hose for draining fuel and the vehicle because the oil-resistant hose for draining fuel may become electrically charged.
  1. Perform preparations for fuel siphoning as shown in the figure below.

    1. Connect the SST to the oil-resistant fuel hose.
    2. Connect the oil-resistant fuel hose connected with the SST to the disconnected quick release connector.
    3. Receive into a gasoline container.
    4. Strip off 10 cm {3.9 in} or more of the insulation from both ends of the wiring harness.
    5. Wrap one side of the wiring harness around the oil-resistant fuel hose.
    6. Connect the other end of the wiring harness to a securely grounded part of the vehicle.
