Perform Fuel Siphoning

CAUTION:
  • Operating the fuel pump when there is no fuel in the fuel tank may cause a fuel pump malfunction. Verify the amount of fuel discharged from the hose continuously during fuel siphoning, and stop the fuel pump if the discharge amount becomes unstable.
  1. Remove the fuel pump relay as shown in the figure.

    COMPONENT OPERATIONS

    1 Fuel pump relay
    CAUTION:
    • Shorting the wrong terminal in the relay and fuse block may cause malfunctions. Always short only the specified terminal.
  2. Short fuel pump relay terminal C and terminal D in the relay and fuse block using a jumper wire.

  3. Connect the negative lead-acid battery terminal and operate the fuel pump.
    • If the fuel pump does not operate, perform the [Fuel Siphoning Procedure Not Using Fuel Pump].
  4. Remove the jumper wire and stop the fuel pump.
