Inspect Refrigerant System Performance

NOTE:
  • Perform the procedure after the refrigerant pressure inspection. (See REFRIGERANT PRESSURE CHECK )
  • Perform the procedure while the vehicle is not exposed to direct sunlight.
  1. Install a dry-bulb thermometer at the center of the driver-side air vent.

    COMPONENT OPERATIONS

    Component No Refer to
    1 Dry-bulb thermometer
  2. Switch the main power ON (READY on).
  3. Prepare the vehicle as follows.
    • Engine speed is 1, 500 rpm
    • A/C switch: ON
    • Air intake mode: REC
    • Airflow mode: Vent
    • Airflow temperature setting: MAX COLD
    • Airflow volume setting: Maximum
    • Hood: Open
    • All doors and liftgate: Closed
    • All door glass: Fully closed
    • Active air shutter (with active air shutter): Open
  4. Wait for 8 min after the engine is started.
  5. Record the airflow temperature and ambient air temperature for 2 min.
  6. Verify that the airflow temperature is within the range of the shaded area shown in the figure.
