WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
P0500: 00 (PCM (PYUL)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE
| System malfunction location |
Vehicle speed signal system: Circuit malfunction |
| Detection condition |
- Under the following conditions, the vehicle speed signal input from the electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM is the malfunction value.
- Shift position: except P or N position
- Charging efficiency: specification or more
- Engine speed: specified rpm or more
- Brake switch: OFF
|
| Fail-safe |
- The vehicle speed for control is fixed at 0 km/h {0 mph}.
- Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.

| Repeatability verification procedure |
WARNING:
- Observe legal speed limits when driving the vehicle and perform the procedure in a location where safety can be assured.
- To prevent an accident, work with two people when the vehicle is being driven (one person drives vehicle, other person operates M-MDS).
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC
.)
- Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure.
- Access the following PCM PIDs using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION
.)
- Drive at a constant speed for 14 s under the following conditions.
- Shift position: except P or N position
- Charging efficiency: above 40 %
- Engine speed: 2, 000 rpm or more
- Brake switch: OFF
|
| Inspection/action procedure |
- This DTC may be displayed due to the following DTCs. If the following DTCs are displayed, prioritizeinspection/action.
- Electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM (See DTC TABLE [DSC]
)
- Electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM malfunction
- Front ABS wheel-speed sensor malfunction
- Proceed with the inspection/action in the order from Step 1 below.
- After part repair or replacement, perform the repeatability verifi cation procedure and perform a DTCinspection. (See DTC INSPECTION
)
- If the DTC inspection indicates the same DTC again, go to the next step.
- Replace the PCM.
Purpose/reason (possible cause)
