DTC P0118-00: ECT Sensor System: High Input (PYUL)

P0118-00 (PCM (PYUL)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

| Detection condition |
- The specified time has elapsed with the voltage of the ECT sensor exceeding the standard.

| Fail-safe |
- Fixes the water temperature for the engine control at 40°C {104°F}, and for the idle air control at 80°C {176°F}.
- The cooling fan is operated (high speed).
- Fuel cut control is canceled during shifting.
- Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC
)
- Perform the KOEO or KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION
)

| Inspection/action procedure |
- Proceed with the inspection/action in the order from Step 1 below.
- After part repair or replacement, perform the repeatability verification procedure and perform a DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION
)
- If the DTC inspection indicates the same DTC again, go to the next step.
- Inspect the wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between the ECT sensor and the PCM.
