DTC P0091-00: Spill Valve Control Solenoid Valve System: Low Input (PYUL)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
P0091-00 (PCM (PYUL)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Spill valve control solenoid valve system: Low input
Detection condition

Determination condition

  • The spill valve control solenoid valve control voltage is abnormally low and the specified period of time has elapsed even though the spill valve control solenoid valve is off.

    Precondition

  • Engine speed: 5, 700 RPM or less
  • Battery voltage: 10.5 V or more
Fail-safe
  • Stops the high pressure fuel pump.
  • Inhibits the intake air flow.
  • Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.
Vehicle status when DTCs are output
  • Not applicable
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC )
  2. Perform the KOEO or KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION )
Inspection/action procedure
  • Proceed with the inspection/action in the order from Step 1 below.
  • After part repair or replacement, perform the repeatability verification procedure and perform a DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION )
  • If the DTC inspection indicates the same DTC again, go to the next step.
  1. Inspect the wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between the spill valve control solenoid valve (high pressure fuel pump) and the PCM.

    Purpose/reason (possible cause)

Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between spill valve control solenoid valve (high pressure fuel pump) and PCM

    Referred to service information item

(See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)

  2. Inspect the spill valve control solenoid valve.

    Purpose/reason (possible cause)

Malfunction in spill valve control solenoid valve (integrated with high pressure fuel pump)

    Referred to service information item

(See HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP INSPECTION .)

  3. Replace the PCM.

    Purpose/reason (possible cause)

PCM malfunction (no other possible malfunction considered)

    Referred to service information item

    (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] )
