DTC P18A4-00: Pcm I-ACTIV AWD Control System

P18A4: 00 (PCM (PYUL)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location PCM i-ACTIV AWD control system
Detection condition
  • A condition in which the difference between the target current of the AWD solenoid control current and the actual current is the specification or more continues.
Fail-safe
  • Inhibits the i-ACTIV AWD system control.
Possible cause
  1. Differential oil temperature is higher than the standard.
    NOTE:
    • Switch the ignition off and allow vehicle to cool down.
  2. i-ACTIV AWD system-related parts connector or terminal malfunction (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
    • Electronic control coupling
    • Electrical supply unit (ESU)
  3. AWD solenoid malfunction (Refer to [MAGNETIC CLUTCH INSPECTION ] in service information).
  4. Electrical supply unit (ESU) related DTCs are stored in the body control module (BCM). (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .)
  5. Electrical supply unit (ESU) malfunction (Refer to [ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU) INSPECTION ] in service information).
  6. PCM malfunction (Refer to [PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
