DTC P1380-00: Electric Variable Valve Timing Control System: Circuit Malfunction

P1380: 00 (PCM (PYUL)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Electric variable valve timing control system: Circuit malfunction
Detection condition
  • The PCM determines a malfunction of the on-board diagnostic results received from the electric variable valve timing driver.
Fail-safe
  • Power supply to the electric variable valve timing driver is cut off.
  • Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between electric variable valve timing motor/driver and PCM (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Electric variable valve timing driver malfunction (Refer to [ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR/DRIVER INSPECTION ] in service information).
  3. Electric variable valve timing motor malfunction (Refer to [ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR/DRIVER INSPECTION ] in service information).
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to [PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)

3 Electric variable valve timing motor/driver
4 PCM
