Intention of troubleshooting procedure

- Step 1
- Perform a CKP sensor pulse wheel inspection.
- Step 2
- Verify the drive-by-wire control operation condition.
- Step 3
- Perform a generator drive belt related inspection.
- Step 4
- Verify the connection condition of the intake-air system piping.
- Step 5
- Perform the inspection for the air suction on intake-air system piping.
- Step 6
- Verify the purge solenoid valve operation.
- Step 7-10
- Perform a valve timing inspection.
- Repair completion verification
- Verify that the primary malfunction is resolved and there are no other malfunctions.

| 5 | PURPOSE: VERIFY AIR SUCTION ON INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM PIPING FOR MALFUNCTION

Yes | Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. |
| No | Go to the next step. | ||
| 6 | PURPOSE: VERIFY PURGE SOLENOID VALVE OPERATION

| Repair completion verification 1 | PURPOSE: VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED

Yes | Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)]
.) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
