WARNING:
- Due to a difference in height between the X mark and the front crossmember, verify that they make contact at the same time.
- Place the X mark on the front crossmember in front of the engine lifter.COMPONENT OPERATIONS
Component no Refer to 1 X mark - Place impact-absorbing material in the area where the front crossmember makes contact.WARNING:
- At this time, the platform of the engine lifter must be higher than the handle. If it is at a lower position, it may contact the vehicle and cause damage.
- Raise the engine lifter to a position 20 mm {0.79 in} lower than its highest position.WARNING:
- Lower while checking the area around the engine, such as whether an excessive load is applied lengthwise.
- Slowly lower the lift until the engine component rests on the engine lifter.
- When removing the front crossmember bolts, raise the engine lifter to reduce the load applied to the bolts.
- Remove the front crossmember bolts.CAUTION:
- If only the bolts in one area are removed, a load may be applied to the remaining bolts. Therefore, remove the bolts evenly.
- Temporarily tighten the SSTs shown in the figure below.
