Inspect Oil Pressure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2 and perform the procedure with the engine warmed up.
- Select the engine hydraulic pressure (PID: OIL PRES) and the engine speed (PID: ENG RPM) using the M-MDS data monitor function.
- Verify the engine hydraulic pressure (PID: OIL_PRES]) value while the engine maintains a constant speed.
- If not within the standard, determine the malfunctioning location referring to the following DTCs [Possible Cause] and repair or replace the applicable part.
- P0524:00 (Engine oil pressure control system: No oil pressure)
- P055F:00 (Engine oil pressure control system: Oil pressure decreased)
NOTE:- The oil pressure can vary with oil viscosity, oil temperature, and engine speed.
Oil pressure (reference) [Oil temperature 80-90°C {176-194°F}, Water temperature 80-90°C {176-194°F}]
Low oil pressure: 135-165 kPa {1.38-1.68 kgf/cm2, 19.6-23.9 psi} [1, 500 rpm]
High oil pressure: 225-275 kPa {2.30-2.80 kgf/cm2, 32.7-39.8 psi} [4, 500 rpm]
- If not within the standard, determine the malfunctioning location referring to the following DTCs [Possible Cause] and repair or replace the applicable part.
