Electric Variable Valve Timing Actuator Installation Note
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- When replacing the electric variable valve timing actuator with a new one, mark the same positions with paint. Those marked during removal.
- Remove the rope suspending the timing chain from the intake side.
- Place the electric variable valve timing actuator between the engine front cover and cylinder head, removing the timing chains from the exhaust and intake camshaft sprockets and moving them towards the rear.
- Return the timing chain to the exhaust camshaft sprocket.
- While aligning the paint mark on the timing chain marked during removal with the one on the electric variable valve timing actuator, engage the chain with the sprocket.
- Align the knock pin on the end of the intake camshaft with the notch on the actuator side and assemble the actuator.
- Fix the hexagonal part of the intake camshaft with a wrench, and tighten the electric variable valve timing actuator mounting bolt.
