DTC P2184-00: ECT Sensor No. 2 Circuit Low Input

P2184: 00 (PCM (H3T)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location ECT sensor No. 2 circuit low input
Detection condition
  • The PCM monitors the ECT sensor No. 2 signal. If the PCM detects that the ECT sensor No. 2 voltage at the PCM terminal 2BB is standard or less, the PCM determines that the ECT sensor No. 2 circuit has a malfunction.
Fail-safe
  • Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.
  • Inhibits the boost control.
Possible cause
  1. ECT sensor No. 2 malfunction (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between PCM and ECT sensor No. 2 (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  3. PCM malfunction (Refer to [PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOEO or KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
