DTC P2091-00: Hydraulic Variable Valve Timing Control System: High Input

P2091: 00 (PCM (H3T)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Hydraulic variable valve timing control system: High input
Detection condition
  • The oil control valve (OCV) control voltage relative to the PCM control is too high.
Fail-safe
  • Set the exhaust variable valve timing control to the maximum advanced position.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between oil control valve (OCV) and PCM (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Oil control valve (OCV) malfunction (Refer to [OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) INSPECTION ] in service information).
  3. PCM malfunction (Refer to [PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
