Troubleshooting Diagnostic Procedure

P182F: 00 (PCM (H3T)) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 PURPOSE: RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION 
  • Record the snapshot data.
    NOTE:
    • Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture function of the PC.
- Go to the next step.
2 PURPOSE: ALLOW VEHICLE TO COOL DOWN FOR WHILE 
  • Switch the ignition off and allow vehicle to cool down.
- Go to the next step.
3 PURPOSE: INSPECT TRANSFER FOR EFFECT MALFUNCTION 
  • Shift the selector lever to N position.
  • Lift up the vehicle.
  • Turn the propeller shaft and rotate the front wheels.
  • Do the front wheels rotate smoothly?
Yes Go to the next step.
 
No Replace the transfer and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to [TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
4 PURPOSE: INSPECT ELECTRONIC CONTROL COUPLING AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL FOR MALFUNCTION 
  • Shift the selector lever to N position.
  • Access the simulation item [CUP_SOL] using the M-MDS. (See SIMULATION INSPECTION .)
  • Lift up the vehicle.
  • Turn the simulation item [CUP_SOL] on and turn the AWD solenoid on.
  • Turn the propeller shaft and rotate the rear wheels.
  • Do the rear wheels rotate smoothly?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to [ ELECTRONIC CONTROL COUPLING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in service information).
(Refer to [REAR DIFFERENTIAL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
Repair completion verification 1 PURPOSE: VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED 
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
  • If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (Refer to [PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED 
  • Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
