DTC P1380-00: Intake Electric Variable Valve Timing/Exhaust Electric Variable Valve Timing Signal Circuit Problem

P1380: 00 (PCM (H3T)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Intake electric variable valve timing/exhaust electric variable valve timing signal circuit problem
Detection condition
  • A malfunction is detected in the results of the on-board diagnostic test received from the electric variable valve timing driver.
Fail-safe
  • Stops activation of the electric variable valve timing driver.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between PCM and electric variable valve timing motor/driver (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Electric variable valve timing driver malfunction (Refer to [ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR/DRIVER INSPECTION ] in service information).
  3. Electric variable valve timing motor malfunction (Refer to [ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR/DRIVER INSPECTION ] in service information).
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to [PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in service information).
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
