P0AB9: 00 (PCM (H3T)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

| Detection condition |
- When the PCM detects a failure of the Mazda M Hybrid Boost activation and deactivation sequence.
- When the PCM receives an abnormal signal from the Mazda M Hybrid Boost related part and receives an Mazda M Hybrid Boost Activation Inhibit.

| Fail-safe |
- Cranking by the starter is prohibited.

| Possible cause |
- The following modules store the DTC:
- DC-DC converter malfunction (Refer to [DC-DC CONVERTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
] in service information).
- Mazda M Hybrid Boost battery malfunction (Refer to [M HYBRID BOOST BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
] in service information).
- Drive motor malfunction (Refer to [MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
] in service information).
- PCM malfunction (Refer to [PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
] in service information).

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC
.)
- Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure.
WARNING:
- To prevent an accident, work with another person when the vehicle is being driven (one person drives vehicle, other person operates M-MDS).
- Observe legal speed limits when driving the vehicle and perform the procedure in a location where safety can be assured.
- Drive the vehicle under the freeze frame data/snapshot data condition.
